Returning to Ryan Beck After 13 Years, David Lazar Brings Depth of Experience with Financial Institutions and Middle Market Companies
 
FLORHAM PARK, NJ – January 11, 2006 -- Ryan Beck & Co., Inc. has announced the appointment of David P. Lazar as Managing Director in the firm’s Investment Banking Division.  Mr. Lazar is a highly regarded investment banking professional with nearly 25 years of related experience involving publicly traded and privately held companies representing a broad range of industries. Based in Philadelphia, he will be responsible for investment banking activity in the Mid-Atlantic region.
 
Mr. Lazar most recently served as Senior Executive Vice President and Head of Investment Banking at Boenning & Scattergood, Inc., where he directed all facets of that firm’s investment banking activity, and where he originated and closed 30 transactions with an aggregate value in excess of $1.2 billion.
 
Previously, he was Managing Director and Co-Head of Investment Banking at Philadelphia- based Berwind Financial Group, which he joined in 1993. During his tenure at Berwind, Mr. Lazar’s Financial Service and Middle Market Investment Banking Group gained recognition as an industry leader; originating more than 50 investment banking assignments and private capital transactions with an aggregate value in excess of $2.5 billion.
 
Mr. Lazar began his investment banking career in 1982 at Ryan Beck & Co., where he served as a senior investment banker for more than eleven years, focusing on Pennsylvania, Maryland and Delaware community banking institutions.

Mr. Lazar holds a BS degree from Duke University and an MBA with emphasis in finance from The College of William and Mary. He currently serves as a Trustee and Treasurer of the Academy of Natural Sciences, and a board member of RFBD, Learning Through Listening in Philadelphia and its national investment committee in Princeton. He resides in Greenville, Delaware with his wife Karen and two teenaged children.
